Slope of a line

Formula of a slope

The line passing through the three points are (3, 2) and (-5, 4), get the slope of line by using the formula.
Solution:
Step 1: Make the points as,
x1 = 3, y1 = 2, x2 = -6, and y2 = 4.
Step 2: Formula for slope of line
m = [(y_(2) - y_(1)) / (x_(2) -x_(1) )]
Step 3: Replace all values in to the formula
m = (4 – 2) / ((-6) – 3)
m = 2 / (-6 – 3)
m = 2 / - 9
m = - 2 / 9
Thus, the slope m = - 2 /9.
